- 10.25.12 - Core D - Week 7
Week 7 - LA assignment requires student to write a paragraph about why settlers chose to settle in Jamestown. The assignment is too early as no real study of Jamestown has occurred yet. I would recommend having the student write on a different topic. Perhaps base the assignment on having read The Very First Americans and ask the student to give a brief explanation of how the first Americans lived. What did they eat? What were their houses like? (10.25.12)
- 10.24.12 - Core F - EHN China, page 3
EHN - China - Page 3 - Under the Communism heading it asks for key ideas, TENANTS, or ideas of Communism. This should read TENETS. (10.24.12)
- 10.24.12 - Core F - Correction to Week 2 error previously listed.
Update to Week 2 - LA Student Activity Sheet error - answer key CORRECTLY hyphenates contrary and honorary. Instructions indicate that you should not hyphenate a word to leave a single letter alone on a line. Student are not asked to simply divide words into syllables, they're supposed to show where they would use hyphens to divide words across two lines. (10.24.12)
- 10.12.12 - Core G - Week 6
Week 6 LA Activity Sheet - Exercise D instructs the student to compare and contrast the poem "A Musical Instrument" to the myth about Pan. There is no reference to direct the student to find the poem. It is found in Favorite Poems Old and New on page. 384. We will correct for next print run. (10.12.12)
- 10.11.12 - Grade K LA IG - Week 7
Week 7 - Vowel activity sheet 8 provides the word cat for the student to match to the picture of the cat. The student has not yet learned the Cc sound, so this is in error. Instruct customers to replace "cat" with "mat" and pencil in a picture of a mat for their student. Update will be made at next print run. (10.11.12)
- 10.11.12 - Core 500 - Week 4
Week 4, Day 1 - The writing assignment references the wrong page in Sound and Sense. It should be page 42. The assignment will be updated to reflect the correct page number, and will state "Find a topic for your Creative Writing Poetry Essay at the end of the chapter in Sound and Sense. Suggested topics are labeled "Suggestions for Writing". (10.11.12)
- 10.01.12 - Core E - Weeks 7 and 8
Weeks 7 and 8 - 5-Minute Mechanics are incorrect for the Student Activity Sheets in both weeks. This applies only to the activity sheets found in the Core IG. They are correct in the Extra Activity Sheet sets. We will post a correction on the Curriculum Updates page. (10.1.12)

Week 17 - Bible Days 3 and 4. Assignments should be Numbers 13:1-2, 21-14:10 .... Numbers 14:11-24 (7.24.12)
- 06.22.12 - Core G - Bible Study notes
In Cores F and G the IG Bible notes have separate notes for Parents and Students. This is a decision Sarita made based on the fact that there are Bible readings that children will read on their own at these two levels, as well as Bible readings the parent will read with the children. Not all the new Bible levels take this approach because not all of them have separate readings for the child, and for the parent and child to read together.
In the Core F IG we do include an assignment for Student Bible Reading on one line and Parent and Student Reading on another. This delineation was missed in the Core G IG.
So ... here is the solution that is currently underway ...
Since we need to explain to customers specifically how to use the Core G Bible program ... we will. . .
1. Post a correction to the Curriculum Updates page
2.Send out an email to customers who have already purchased the Core G IG
3.And send out a printed letter that will be included with all new Core G packages leaving the warehouse
Here is the instruction we will be providing ...
On your weekly Schedule pages, under the Bible section, have your children read The International Children's Bible Field Guide on their own. When it's time to read the actual Bible passages in the Schedule, please read those selections aloud to your children.
There are many helpful Bible-related Notes each week after your Schedule pages. Some of these Notes are intended specifically for your children, while some are for you. These Bible Notes are marked in the Instructor's Guide as either "Parents" or "Students."
- 06.12.12 - LA K - Week 7
Week 7 Notebook Activities - Copywork Activity Sheets for this week were unintentionally left out of the IG. Missing sheets available on the Curriculum Updates page. (6.12.12)
- 06.12.12 - Core D+E- Week 35
Week 35 - In Search of the Source - Study Guide notes left out:
Note to Mom or Dad
Please note that our warning notes for In Search of the Source were unintentionally left out of our 2012 Instructor’s Guide. We deeply apologize for this error and have corrected it for future printings. Please find the notes listed below.(6/2012)
pp. 79–81 (Warning!)
There are a couple of rough spots in these two pages. You will want to pre–read this section and at least be aware of the following potential difficulties.
p. 79, para 4
At fourth grade, you may prefer not having to use the term “sexual intercourse.” We suggest that you say, instead, “She wanted him to treat her as if she was his wife.” This phrase is the same one we used with our children when we described prostitutes or prostitution (as you come across it in Scripture—let alone anywhere else.)
p 79, last two paras through top of p. 80 \\ I would simply cut everything after “Everybody at the table was struck by the moral strength of Joseph” through “… But that’s the way it was there. Some places are just different.” I would then begin again with, “We translated the next section… .“
Bottom of p. 81
This section is just difficult to read. Mr. Anderson uses a lot of big words. You could just read through it. Your kids may follow the basic story line, even if they struggle a bit with those couple of paragraphs. OR, you could cut everything in the last paragraph of page 81 from the word “The” at the end of the fifth line… . In fact, you may want to go over this part of Joseph’s story in Genesis 44, and then continue from the top of page 81 in In Search of the Source.
